When you’ve found the perfect funding opportunity and approved the match in Vee, your grant moves from Matches for Review to the Grants in Progress section, and you’re ready for Grant to start writing your application.
But sometimes, there’s a small red flag that pops up: the “Provide Info” button.
Don’t worry, not everyone sees this step, and if you do, it’s simple to complete. This blog will walk you through exactly what it means and how to handle it so your application keeps moving forward.
Why Does the “Provide Info” Button Appear?
The “Provide Info” step shows up when Grant needs a little extra information to access the funder’s application portal. Without this step, Grant can’t mirror the actual application questions — meaning your application could stall.
Think of it as opening the right door. Grant has the tools to write, but he needs the keys to get inside.
What To Do If You See It
When you click the “Provide Info” button, Grant will guide you through what’s needed right in the chat:
Option 1: You already have a login.
Grant may ask for your email and password to the funder’s portal. Share those details with him so he can get started immediately.Option 2: You don’t have a login yet.
No problem. Ask Grant for the funder’s website, create an account, and then send the login details over.
Why This Step Matters
This isn’t busywork, it’s critical. By providing the info, you’re giving Grant what he needs to:
Mirror the funder’s exact application questions
Customize your application with the right details
Ensure your submission is authentic and complete
Skipping this step means Grant can’t write the application at all.
Bottom Line
If you see the “Provide Info” button, don’t ignore it. It’s the small step that unlocks the entire grant writing process.
